With airlines charging fees for nearly everything, most charge a fee to book a flight via the phone. But you can call in get all the assistance you need to find the flight and price you want, then go online and book your flight with out the fee. I actually have been on the internet and the phone at the same time and booked my flight while getting my free advice over the phone.

I pick my flights with Orbitz and then book them through the airline, unless I am doing with hotel, then I book it all through Orbitz and google "Orbitz coupons" first.

Another tip...I learned if you book on line you have to print your baggage check on line too...or they hit you up for a couple more bucks at check in.

thanks so much. That sounds great and is a great FREE tidbit.
I think I just about ALWAYS book online. Then again, I don't travel like YOU do, Road Warrior.

I-John, what airlines charge you to at check-in? I just haven't experienced that yet. Southwest does NOT. Nor has JetBlue.

Whom do I need to avoid like that? (bastards! lol!)

Great tip..I ran into a problem when I was trying to reserve a room with 2 beds when using a service that included the hotel as well. I did the same thing called then booked online while talking to the hotel
