Entertain Yourself
With airlines charging for everything under the sun and Some of them eliminating in flight entertainment, it is probably a good idea to bring your own entertainment. I see more MP3 players and DVD players and laptops used to watch video on planes all the time. Personally I use the time to read or sleep. But there are times when I like to listen to music (it blocks out noise and is relaxing, which often leads to sleep), and that is when I use my MP3 player. And if you bring your own video source you can be sure to see something you want to see instead of what the airline chooses.

Good idea Scott. I do bring my laptop, but it's so hard to maneuver on the plane. I have been flying jetblue quite a bit recently and I'm glad to have their tv/music for entertainment as I still don't have an ipod or mp3 player of my own. One other benefit to Jet Blue - they still give free snacks!

The last couple of times I've travelled by plane I've really found the noise on the aircraft grating. I purchased some of those sound blocking headphones and things seem much better.
